Draft for review by a lawyer in Tio Teknoloji's country (Turkey, KVKK) before publication.
The short version
Tio Uptomizer runs on your Mac and keeps your files on your Mac. It has no analytics, no account and no crash reporter. It makes exactly two kinds of network request, both listed below, and you can block either without breaking scanning. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics either.
What the app sends, and to whom
| request | what is sent | to whom | when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Licence activation and daily check | your licence key and a name for this Mac (the computer name macOS shows), nothing else | Lemon Squeezy (lemonsqueezy.com), which sells the licence and processes payment; its own policy covers the checkout | when you enter a key; once a day while licensed; when you deactivate |
| Malware definitions | a plain download request, no data about you or your files | uptomizer.tioteknoloji.com (Tio Teknoloji's own server) | once a day |
| App updates (Sparkle) | the standard update feed request: app version, macOS version and CPU type, no identifier | uptomizer.tioteknoloji.com | when you check for updates, or automatically if you turn that on |
Nothing else leaves the Mac. File names, paths, scan results, logs and settings stay in ~/Library/Application Support/Tio Uptomizer and ~/Library/Logs/Tio Uptomizer, where you can read or delete them.
What the app never does
- It does not upload file names, paths, hashes or contents. The malware check compares hashes locally against a downloaded list.
- It does not use advertising or analytics SDKs, and it does not fingerprint the device.
- It does not create an account. A licence key is the only thing that identifies a purchase.
This website
Static pages served by Tio Teknoloji. The server keeps ordinary access logs (IP address, time, page) for security and to count downloads, deleted after 30 days. Fonts are served from this domain, not from Google. There is no form on the site yet; when a waitlist is added, the mail provider will be named here first.
Payments
Purchases happen in your browser on Lemon Squeezy's checkout. Tio Uptomizer never sees your card. Lemon Squeezy sends the receipt and the licence key by email and keeps the order record; its privacy policy applies to that step.
Permissions you may grant
Full Disk Access lets the app read other apps' caches and your Mail downloads so it can list them; it is used only for scanning and removal you start. The privileged helper is a separate program you install from Settings and approve in System Settings; it accepts requests only from Tio Uptomizer, applies the same never-touch list, and writes a log at /Library/Logs/Tio Uptomizer/helper.log. Both can be revoked in System Settings at any time.
Your rights
To delete everything the app stored, uninstall it and remove the two folders above; nothing remains elsewhere. To see what Lemon Squeezy holds about your purchase, or to have it deleted, use the "My orders" portal linked in the app or write to the support address. Residents of Turkey (KVKK), the EU/EEA, the UK and California have statutory rights to access, correct and erase personal data; the support address is the contact for exercising them.
